A surface-by-surface plan for your boat
Begin with a walk-through of how the vessel is used. Boarding areas, handled surfaces and exposed glass have different priorities. Record where wear is showing and which areas are difficult to keep looking clean. Photos and a description of storage arrangements help make the initial consultation useful.
Separate painted surfaces, gelcoat and glass when defining the project. Ask which treatments suit each area and what preparation is required. The goal is a coordinated plan, not the same product applied everywhere.
Make access and maintenance part of the brief
Vessel size, location and access can affect how work is planned. Confirm where the proposed work will take place and what arrangements are needed before booking. Discuss cleaning habits and the level of ongoing care you can maintain so the treatment fits real use.
Organize the project around time on the water
A practical marine plan starts with the way the vessel is used between appointments. Identify where people board, where equipment is handled and which surfaces receive the most attention during cleaning. Those details help you distinguish appearance goals from wear concerns.
Break the project into areas that can be assessed clearly. Glass, painted finishes and gelcoat may require different preparation and product discussions. Photograph each area and explain any previous treatment so the proposal reflects the vessel rather than a generic boat package.
Confirm the access and scheduling arrangements before reserving work. Include storage location, any restrictions on access and the date you need the vessel available. At completion, keep a treatment record that can be shared with whoever carries out regular cleaning.
- List the vessel areas and materials involved
- Photograph boarding and frequently handled surfaces
- Identify existing oxidation, damage or treatments
- Confirm work location and access arrangements
- Agree on availability around planned use
- Share treatment-specific care with the maintenance team
Plan a finish that fits your needs
A useful recommendation starts with the condition of the surface and the result you want to achieve. Share clear photos and your priorities with NDPRO so preparation, scope and care can be discussed together.
- Identify the areas you want treated
- Share existing damage or previous treatments
- Discuss the finish you want to achieve
- Confirm scope, timing and aftercare before booking
From first conversation to aftercare
Start with a short conversation about your goals and the condition of the vehicle, vessel or space. Confirm the proposed preparation, product, coverage and timing in your quote. Before handover, ask for the care guidance specific to the treatment you choose.
- Share photos and project details
- Review the proposed scope and finish
- Confirm care and follow-up questions
Questions before you book
Should I choose marine film or coating?
Start by naming the surface and the problem. Film may be considered for selected wear-prone areas, while coating and window film address different needs. Review each proposed product and its intended use with the studio.
Does surface protection replace all other boat maintenance?
No. Keep normal cleaning, inspections and vessel maintenance in the plan. Confirm the intended application of each treatment; do not assume a topside finish treatment is an underwater or antifouling solution.
